Volume 4 of the Darwin Magazine titled “Subculture” is now available for pre order from: darwinmagazine.bigcartel.com.

Darwin Magazine was founded in October 2012 by Harry Rose (Photoart) and Ryan Grimley (Newport documentary photography graduate). Darwin provides a platform for the unestablished photographer, as well as those who have made a mark on the photographic scene. Generating engaging conversations about photographers work from interviews, reviews and essays.

“This volume is bigger and better than what we have done before. It contains projects, essays, write-ups and Q&A’s all focused around Subculture.” – (Darwin Magazine)

Congratulations to Liam Devlin

Staff and students of Photoart are sad to see Liam Devlin move onto pastures new. Liam is taking up a position as Senior Lecturer in Photography at the University of Huddersfield. We all wish Liam all the best for the future.

Josephine Sowden at the Bloomberg New Contemporaries (2013)

Josephine Sowden (graduated from The University of South Wales in 2012) has been selected for the 2013 Bloomberg New Contemporaries showing at Spike Island, Bristol.

With over 1500 submissions Josephine Sowden was one of only forty six recent national graduates to be selected for this show featuring the most talented emerging artists. The show opened on Friday 13th September and will run until Sunday 10th November, before touring to the ICA, London on the 27th November.

Accompanying the show is a zine style catalogue introduced by Sacha Craddock.
