Jacob Sanders’ Escape

Jacob Sanders is a third year Photographic Art Student, his work ties themes of surveillance with the isolation of nature.

This series explores my relationship with nature, natural locations I can escape to, escaping from the busy and restricted world of the city. My form of escapism is to ride my bike in the forests surrounding Cardiff. When I’m riding my bike through the forests I forget about the stresses of daily life. I am not thinking about work, nor am I confined to pre-determined route. I can turn, stop, and pedal when and as I please. I can be in compete isolation, escaping from the surveillance I feel controlled by in city life.
