Publications

The publications below showcase work that we find relevant to our Photographic art course; including publications created by or featuring our current students, staff and alumni.

Utilising a photocopier, binding machine, rubber-stamp, and various pre-printed components, Made to Stray was constructed in situ during the 2015 Graduate Show at the University of South Wales. All 500 books in the edition were assembled between 27th May and 5th June.

Drift, an exhibition by second year Photographic Art students, it showcased visual artworks focused around the River Usk, connecting the waterways and its surrounding land and community. This publication was designed to accompany an exhibition of the same name, which took place in the Project Space in Newport town centre.

The pattern in my carpet was a second year Photographic Art exhibition, the work created was inspired by the city of Newport and the community within. Off the Menu by the 2012 graduates was the first publication to veer away from the standard book format. This decision was made by a need for a better way to showcase the increasing amount of audio/video work produced by the course and fit into our increasingly web-centric society. Both website and newspaper publication share the name Off the Menu to portray the variety and diversity of work produced. Introduction by Liam Devlin.

This playfully designed publication includes the work of 20 recently graduated photographers/artists who were selected by Ben Burbridge (Deputy Editor, Photoworks Magazine).
